In Memory Of:

Steve Warry

KLSMC is dedicated to Steve Warry who died in March 2001.

The history of SEAMC is embedded in Alice Smith School’s history. Steve Warry, an enthusiastic teacher of the Alice Smith School, had a belief that Mathematics could be a ‘spectator sport’. In pursuit of this, he organised the South East Asian Mathematics Competition (SEAMC) in March 2001.

Tragically, he passed away the week prior to the inaugural competition, but the event went ahead and Steve’s dream became a reality.
